by Bay Nature Staff on July 08, 2012
Energetic hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians appreciate the rugged and steep terrain of this park and its grasslands, steep chaparral, oak woodland forests. and shady riparian corridors.
This sprawling 17,000-acre Sierra Azul preserve covers a wide swath of the Santa Cruz Mountains. From the wide trails here, you’ll get great views of the mountains, Los Gatos, and the odd 6-story concrete monolith that once housed a radar station that was part of the national strategic defense network.
