San Francisco Dialects, Then and Now
Each dot represents a territory where an individual male was recorded. Today white-crowned sparrows are found primarily in parks. Under the 'Historic Dialects' tab, click the 'play' buttons to hear the different sparrow dialects that once inhabited San Francisco. Under the 'Contemporary Dialect' tab, meet some of the individual birds by clicking on the pulsing circles.
