Great White Sharks

Thursday, February 11, 2010
7:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Victoria Elena Vasquez has assisted with shark research in South Africa and has worked as a naturalist on a cage diving boat at the Farallon Islands. She’ll give a PowerPoint presentation and answer questions about these top predators. "I will be discussing the biology and behavior of white sharks via my personal journey to study them professionally. I will discuss the white sharks of Mossel Bay, South Africa and the scientists I collaborated with at Oceans Research. I will also lightly touch upon what I've learned about the white sharks of the Farallon Islands and my experience as a Naturalist during last year's shark season. Finally, I will discuss my plans for when I return to Mossel Bay this summer to work for Oceans Research."
