GreenPlay: Sustainable Outdoor Play - Afterschool Adventures - Mill Valley

Weekly afterschool nature education classes for 6-11 year olds in the Ross Valley (Tuesdays) and Mill Valley (Thursdays). Join us for our 8-week Winter (Jan. 12 - Mar. 11) or Spring (April 20 - June 10) sessions, our discounted 3-week Equinox Session (Mar. 16 - April 1), or on a per class basis.
Afternoon Adventures is a 8-week outdoor education afterschool program for kids, ages 6-11. A GreenPlay afternoon of sustainable play may includea group hike, natural and local history instruction, exposure to native cultures, noncompetitive games, nature art, storytellling, impromtu drama, fun team-building activities, and time just to use our imaginations and play in our beautiful Marin habitat. Each 8-week session includes at least 4 sessions dedicated to working with Marin County Open Space on restoration projects at Horse Hill in Mill Valley and the College of Marin Ecology Study Area in Kentfield. Our opportunities for hands-on, experiental learning will center around
• Central California climate and Marin County microclimates • edible and useful native plants, invasive plants and what fruits and vegetables grow well in Marin • Marin County's domestic and native animals • sites and customs of the Coastal Miwok of the Huimen and Aguasto territories • Spanish immigrant activities • geology, gold rush and earthquakes • development of Mill Valley and the towns of the Ross Valley
