Overview
The Sonoma Overlook Trail is a nearly 3 mile walking path set onto the hilldiside backdrop for the the City of Sonoma. A diverse array of native plants and animals grace the gentle grade trail, and spectacular views of the town of Sonoma, the Sonoma Valley and the Bay Area can be found in the meadow at its top… More on the Sonoma Ecology Center site here.

This was a great hike with a beautiful view at the top, and free interpretive brochures describing the trees, flowers, and telling a little history. On the way down, I somehow ended up in the cemetery next to the trail but it was no problem finding my way back down to the parking lot. I loved how peaceful it was, with only a small handful of other people there on a gorgeous weekend afternoon.
