Martin Nicolaus (aka “the Owl Guy”) has covered Berkeley’s César Chávez Park since 2004. He has taken more than 3,000 photos of the owls, published more than 350 posts about them on ChavezPark.org, and posted more than 250 owl videos on YouTube. He’s also the founder and CEO of the Chavez Park Conservancy, a volunteer-run nonprofit to preserve Berkeley’s largest municipal park.
