Bay Nature Institute’s Local Hero Awards Dinner on Sunday, March 26, 2017 brought together 260 conservation advocates, nature lovers, and Bay Nature supporters from throughout the Bay Area to celebrate four extraordinary Local Heroes. “The Tide Is Turning” celebrated San Francisco Bay and the people who’ve dedicated their lives to preserving it. Keynote speaker Sam Schuchat of the California State Coastal Conservancy spoke about both the challenges to, and hope for, the Bay’s future.
