At this Park
2540 acre Park managed by: California Department of Parks and Recreation
Enjoy the solitude of lush redwood groves and the joyful sounds of waterfalls at this secluded park.
At the end of a steep and winding road awaits the peaceful respite of Portola Redwoods’ forested slopes. Eighteen miles of trails lead hikers through the trees and along the creeks on hikes ranging from a short and easy self-guided nature loop to a challenging 13-mile traverse to a grove of old-growth redwoods–with many other hike options between those two extremes. The park also offers 52 regular campsites and four walk-in sites. Portola Redwoods is on the state parks closure list (planned for implementation by July 2012), so visit it now, while you can!
