Lorri Pimentel and Holly Mead are professional artists who love teaching kids and have designed a discovery walk and sketch for older children.
Lorri and Holly will be talking about different plants and animals, and help your child learn to “see” and draw! Children will learn about the treasure of Armstrong Redwoods in a hands-on experiential way, and each child will have something fun to show at the end of the class.
Ideally, the parent/guardian will help the child photograph what they want to draw after everyone comes back from the walk and gathers in the Volunteer Building. During this time, paper, pencils, crayons, and paints will be provided for the children to recreate what they’ve seen on the walk, in a beautiful, educational, and artistic way! And, of course, we will have a healthy snack of fruit, cheese, and crackers.
Please note: If a child does not have access to a phone, no worries. Helpers will be there to help!
One parent/adult guardian must be present per family/friend group, up to 3 children per 1 adult. For instance, if there are 6 kids in one family/friend group, a minimum of two adults must be present.
Reservations are limited, up to 12 children @ $10 per. Make a reservation here.
