Please join Marin Water and Marin County Parks for our annual Bald Hill Broom Bust! Volunteers will focus on containing the spread of French and Scotch broom monocultures and also eradicate pioneer patches. Volunteers could start at Deer Park and hike, bike, or carpool to the top of the hill at Sky Ranch Open Space. We will be meeting at Sky Ranch at 9 AM. Visit our Google Map here for more information and directions.
This is a family-friendly activity suitable for ages 8 and up; volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. Tools, gloves, water, and a lunch of chili and salad will be provided at noon. Please dress for variable weather, wear close-toed shoes with ankle support, and bring a water bottle.
Please RSVP here or email volunteerprogram@marinwater.org to volunteer. RSVP is encouraged but not required. We welcome the rain and will only cancel under extreme winds or heavy downpours. Call 415-945-1128 after 7 AM the morning of the event to hear event updates.
