Habitat Restoration: Broom Removal on Mt. Tam with Marin Water!

Saturday, February 17 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Start a new family tradition by thanking nature through a morning of hands-on stewardship. Our grassy meadows are home to sun-loving plants and animals and are hunting grounds for birds of prey. The fruits of our open canopy hardwoods – oak, bay and madrone trees – nourish abundant forest wildlife. Join Marin Water and help us improve the oak woodland and grassland habitat near Bon Tempe Lake by removing invasive French broom. Uncover healthy plant communities that support a high diversity of wildlife.
Registration is encouraged but not required. The event is family-friendly with parental supervision for ages 8 and older. Volunteers ages 16 or older are welcome to join with signed permission slips. Tools, gloves, snacks and water are provided. Please dress for variable weather and bring a water bottle.
Meeting location is Lake Lagunitas parking lot at 9 a.m. sharp! Parking passes are provided to volunteers. Call 415-945-1128 after 7 a.m. the morning of the event for updates in case of extreme weather.
