Help us find the Western Dog Violet on the Sonoma Coast!

Join us for a great cup of coffee and a one-hour training session on the Viola adunca (western dog violet) with Environmental Scientist Chris Heintzelman from the Sonoma-Mendo Coast Parks District. The session will take place on Wednesday, March 14th, at the Stewards Volunteer Building starting at 10AM.

No previous experience required Explore the world of wildflowers and butterflies during this training. Your participation will contribute valuable data for State Parks to develop habitat restoration plans. Limited space is available.

Contribute to conservation efforts while you hike in coastal prairies this Spring! State Parks is looking for volunteers to help collect Viola adunca (western dog violet) location data in the coastal prairies of Sonoma Coast State Park. Environmental Scientists will provide information on trail access, training on wildflower and butterfly natural history, and plant identification techniques.

Surveys TBA will take place March through June, during peak blooming season.
