The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) and the Randall Museum are delighted to announce the “Feed Your Ecosystem” Native Plant Celebration, a community event dedicated to promoting the importance of native plants in sustaining and nourishing local ecosystems.

• Admission: Free and open to the public
Highlights of the Event:
• Free Native Plant Seeds: Attendees will have the opportunity to receive free native plant seeds to kickstart their own ecosystem-friendly gardens. Seeds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early.
• Demonstrations and Activities: Explore the fascinating world of native plants and their role in supporting local ecosystems. Engage in hands-on activities and informative demonstrations throughout the day, highlighting how native plants contribute to pollinator support, insect pest reduction, and the cultivation of healthy soil through fungi and microbes.
Activity Schedule:
• 10:30 am – Weed and Seed the Hill: Participate in a hands-on activity focused on weed management and seed planting to enhance the hillside with native flora.
• 11:00 am – Bird Walk – Plants for Birds with Dominik Mosur: Join Dominik Mosur for an insightful bird walk, discovering the connection between native plants and creating a welcoming habitat for birds.
• 12:00 pm – Bioblitz the Hill with Bob Hall: Explore the biodiversity of the hillside through a bioblitz led by expert naturalist Bob Hall.
• 12:00 pm – Native Bouquet Workshop with Cathy Lewis: Learn the art of creating beautiful bouquets using native plants under the guidance of Cathy Lewis.
• 1:00 pm – Presentation by Susan Karasoff: Attend Susan Karasoff’s presentation titled “Gardening to Feed Your Butterflies and Caterpillars,” focusing on creating a garden that nurtures these essential pollinators.
