Become a Wildlife Hospital Volunteer at WildCare!

WildCare is still accepting applications for new adult volunteers (age 18+) to work with our wild animal patients hands-on in the Wildlife Hospital in San Rafael.

If you are interested in applying for our 2024 adult Wildlife Hospital Volunteer recruitment, please carefully read this page and then complete the application.

Important note: All Wildlife Hospital volunteer positions will take place at WildCare’s transition site at 251 North San Pedro Rd in San Rafael for 2024 and 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to get your foot in the door as a volunteer at our brand new facility, which will open in late 2025!

Anyone wanting to become a Wildlife Hospital volunteer must be able to meet the following requirements (no exceptions):

• Attend one of the the mandatory Zoom orientations on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 6pm – 8pm or Saturday, January 27, 2024, 1pm – 3pm
• Complete all online and in-person trainings
• Commit to a 4-hour weekly shift
• Commit to a minimum of 9 months on the weekly shift (though we hope you’ll continue for many years to come!)

Completed applications will serve as RSVPs for the new volunteer orientation. Applicants will receive an email with the link to the two Zoom orientations by January 20th. You only need to attend ONE of the orientation sessions.

Note that WildCare has a limited number of volunteer positions available, so not all applicants will be accepted. Any additional questions you might have will be answered at the orientation.
