Why is this a useful tool for social studies, science, and art classes?
You can fulfill your student’s STEM requirements with a virtual, in-person, or hybrid tour of Lake Temescal. The tour, with its 45 points of interest, can be found on the app PocketSights. We have tours on four creeks: Temescal, Sausal, Strawberry, and Glen Echo/Lake Merritt.

During our in-person Lake Temescal tour, you can expect to learn:
* What river is the water supply for the East Bay/stickers
* East Bay Creek overview
* The history of the Ohlone people living along Temescal Creek, and their seasonal migration patterns
* How and why the lake came to be built
* The history of nearby transportation infrastructure that has shaped the area around the lake
* Important geological features of the area
* The kinds of flora and fauna to be found
* Conservation issues and problems facing the area
* Other available resources we have created for this tour:
* Curriculum based on STEM requirements
* Treasure Hunt/Side Quest
* Learn birds by their songs poster

In addition, we encourage you to check out this tour on the app Pocketsights–available at any time!
