In this workshop, taught by milliner Laurie Berliner and textile designer and painter Barb Dixon Jobin, participants will create a 3” silk rugosa rose, perfect for a wristlet, flower pin, or hat adornment.
We will begin with a brief explanation of the history, tradition, and techniques of silk flower-making around the world. In the lovely, light-filled Shop, we will create the Rosa rugosausing primarily traditional techniques and tools. You will paint the petals in colors inspired by the gardens of the Marin Art and Garden Center. Barb and Laurie look forward to spending a Spring Sunday afternoon sharing the joy of silk flower making.
