Debbie Viess is a zoologist, naturalist and mycologist, who was seduced away from a former focus upon the furred and feathered by the wonderful world of fungi. She loves to document, photograph, illustrate, write and talk about mushrooms. She is the cofounder of the Bay Area Mycological Society, and is particularly interested in the genus Amanita and mushroom toxicology. You can see many of her observations on her Mushroomobserver.org profile.
After votes from California mushroom enthusiasts, the bling under the live oaks emerged as the winner.
