Doug Johnson is executive director emeritus at the California Invasive Plant Council, having served in the executive director role from 2002 to 2026. Cal-IPC presents the Jake Sigg Award for Vision and Dedicated Service each year to an exceptional land steward. Doug’s interest in protecting California’s native habitats was catalyzed in large part by meeting Jake as a neighbor in San Francisco in the 1990s.
